The Real Estate Association is a “Union” and employees (except clerical) in the Real Estate Industry within NSW, are eligible to become members.
The Association first became registered as an Organisation of Employees (Union) in 1964 and since that time has assisted members with a variety of employment issues.
The Association is an Industry based “Union” and has extensive knowledge on the issues effecting employees in the Real Estate Industry. The Committee of Management of the Association are or were employees (in various categories) in the Real Estate Industry and have a firsthand understanding of issues that affect employees.
The cost of joining the Association is $165.00 including GST for the first year, then $55.00 per year including GST thereafter.
Persons eligible to join are:
- Salespersons, whether full time, part time or casual
- Property Managers, whether full time, part time or casual
- Property Officers, whether full time, part time or casual
- Licensees in Charge – if an employee
- Strata Managers.
Some of the issues the Association has assisted and helped members resolve are:
- Assisting with their contract of employment
- Representing members either by negotiating with the employer or attending court to obtain unpaid wages, holiday pay and commissions
- Advice on employment and professional issues
- Negotiating award and employment conditions with Peak Employer bodies
Over the past few years we have achieved over $150,000.00 in unpaid monies for our members.
